Democratic Party of Kosovo MP Vlora Citaku has called for Vetevendosje Movement Chairman Albin Kurti, not to continue the current established blockade of the Assembly for weeks.
Following the failure of the XXI session, she has said Kosovo citizens have not voted for blockades, but for formation of institutions, while accusing Vetevendosje Movement of blocking this process.
We call, we extend an invitation to Mr. Kurt to reflect. Kosovo citizens have not voted for blockades, have voted to build new institutions that would have to face the challenges of citizens. Unfortunately nothing is happening. We give him an appeal again so we can walk away. I'm sorry we don't have better news for you”, she said.
Otherwise, on Sunday, lawmakers refused to form a commission for monitoring a secret vote for the new head of the legislature.
The question of the secret vote, which was proposed on May 1st by the head of the session, Avni Dehari, after the Vetevendosje Movement's proposed (LVV) for Parliament Speaker Albulen Haxhiu, failed to arrive at some polls to get the 61 votes needed to be confirmed in post 50 has been submitted to the Constitutional Court of Kosovo by parties in the previous legislature.
They say it is unconstitutional the way the LVV is trying to make the chief parliament vote through the secret form, and have asked the Constitution to take <x0.> a temporary measure for stopping sessions until prioritizing this subject and making a decision”
The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) and the Serbian List again refused, in the continuation of the constitutional session on Sunday, to propose a representative who would ensure the success of the secret vote.
The constitutional hearing will continue on Tuesday, May 27th./Periscopi/
