Osmani is expected to set the date for local elections during June. That following consultations with political subjects, however, what is known is that, under the law, local elections will be held in October of this year.
The elections will be held for the election of 38 mayors and municipal municipalities. They will be the eighth for municipal and sixth for mayors.
Central Election Commission spokesman Valmir Elez has said of Kosovo Preress, that this institution is under preparation, including identification of needs, budget planning for elections, and review of election regulations.
“Currently, the Central Election Commission is in pre-preparative process, which includes identifying needs, budget planning and review or assessment of sub-legal acts. Under the Law for General Elections only after the election date is announced, the CEC could begin with general preparations for organising the election process, the implementation of the election activities plan, which primarily connects with voters and political subjects”, Elesi has said. /Periscope.
