Britain's ambassador to Kosovo, Jonathan Hargreaves, has written after meeting with incumbent Prime Minister Albin Kurti, meeting nwho were present yDiplomatic representatives of the QUINT states, chief of the European Union Office in Kosovo writes Periscope.
Hargrees said he has appealed for the new government to be formed as soon as possible, and that this is vital issues, such as unblocking funds and walking towards Euro-Atlantic integration.
” This afternoon I met Prime Minister Kurt with other Quinn ambassadors. I encouraged the formation of a new government as soon as possible to act in the interest of '% and its people by making progress on vital issues, such as unlocking funds and walking towards Euro-Atlantic integration.”, Britain's ambassador wrote.
Otherwise, the Prime Minister's Office, through a communique, expressed that the central theme of the meeting was the process of membership of the Republic of Kosovo in the Council of Europe.
The prime minister recalled that the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the rapporteur for Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe have already confirmed that Kosovo meets the legal and institutional criteria to be part of this important international organisation. He stressed that our country's further progress in the accession process would show that democratic reforms and line-up with European norms and values are recognised and appreciated even in difficult political contexts in which principled and strategic decisions require European unity and stability. As a result of delays in membership, the prime minister added further, if continued to be denied to the citizens of Kosovo, including inmost communities and other vulnerable groups, access to the European Court of Human Rights, a key defence mechanism that could significantly strengthen individual rights and account”, the ZKM communiqué said.
According to this communique, it also discussed the road forward in the European Union integration process and recent developments in the country.
