Who's Bekim Hoxha?
In the past year, exactly on September 11, 2024, Periscopi had reported exclusively about Bekim Hoxha's appointment by the Government of Kosovo to an executive chief in AUV.
Faton Peci had often moved the person to positions in question.
In 2021, Hoxha had been appointed deputy chief of the Forest Agency, and then in June 2023, became the deputy head of the AUV. He also witnessed the trial of Nenad Ricalos, former Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development (MBPZHR).
The man who was suspected of having harmed the state budget of no less than 4m euros, Bekim Hoxha, in the role of witness, even knitted elozes for [Nenad Ricallon].
Two prosecution witnesses praise former minister Rikalo
In a chronice dedicated to the occasion, journalist Saranda Ramaj, It reported that as two witnesses invited by the prosecution, they praised former Prime Minister Nenad Ricalo during their testimony. This is where AUV chief Bekim Hoxha was now.
Although prosecutor Salihu had considered his important testimony to prove the indictment, Hoxha has praised the chief defendant in this case, Koha.net reported.
“As far as the department is concerned has supported us and understood sector”, Hoxha said at the Court.
Chief Court Mentor Bajraktari, Susan Qerkin and Violet Namani in the punishment act had announced that Rikallos and also the other indictees, Kaplan Halimi, had been forbidden to exercise office in public administration for three years.
According to the indictment compiled by the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo on December 26th 2019, defendants Nenad Ricalo, Kapllan Halimi, Shefki Zeqiri and Ekrem Gjona are charged that, in co-operation, during 2018, they have enabled some companies to illegally benefit grants.
The indictment said the defendant Ricalo in the quality of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development has surpassed its competencies by drafting a separate programme for financing several projects.
Months ago, however, Appeals acquitted former Agriculture Minister Nenad Ricalo and former Secretary Kaplan Halimi of Corruption.
Nenad Rikalo once worked with Albin Kurt
Nenad Ricalo, through a reaction he had made long before, had declared that he was a close associate even with Albin Kurti.
I worked in the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports from 2001 to 2003, and from 2003 I actively worked in the civil sector for reconciliation between communities and developing society. This public may not know, but four years I have been a member of the Board at the Soros Foundation along with Shpend Ahmeti and Ilir Deda and other prominent intellectuals from Pristina. In 2003, I shared with Albin Kurt in establishing the KAN. At the time together, we have worked on establishing a non-violent war strategy for a better life and reconciliation among people in Kosovo. He has later changed his beliefs by starting another way, has formed the Vetevendosje movement, which uses violent methods to achieve political goals in politics, which I have not been converted to. Since then, we've stopped working together”, Minister Ricalo said in 2017.
Who was the KAN Movement which later became the Vetevendosje Movement?
The KAN was the movement of young activists who, for their mission, promoted social changes and active citizenship.
According to data, Albin Kurti worked as an activist at the Kosovo Action Network (KAN), formed in 1997, which was resurrected at the new “Steering” conference held in Pristina from July 8th-13th 2003.
Thus KAN secured continuity by means of a new beginning. KAN was the movement of young activists, who for the mission had social changes and the creation of active citizenship. The activities centered on three main areas: human rights issues and social justice, education, culture, and art. KAN was made up of many international members.
On June 12th 2005, on walls surrounding the UNMIK building, activists wrote the slogan No Negotiation, Self-Determination, which brought to the KAN's transformation in Vetevendosje Movement!
The writing of slogans continued in nearly all of Kosovo's villages and cities, and then the movement began with the use of other non-violent creative methods such as symbolic shares, blockades and finally mass demonstrations.
Lutfi Haziri, LDK deputy chairman, had also spoken of the KAN Movement.
“Determination, from KAN when it was an Albanian-Serbian organisation, was formed in the Movement, has become a protest movement and has become political movement. They have their own policies. I respect rivals but does not create false public perception because they are not the option of Kosovo”, Haziri said during a televised debate during the election campaign./Periscopi/
