Albania's President Bajram Begaj has led the delegation that participated in the inauguration ceremony of Pope Leoni XIV at the Vatican, where numerous leaders and personalities from around the world were present.
During his stay at the Holy See, Begaj had a meeting with the Pope, who conveyed the most heartfelt wishes of his choice as Holy Father and leader of the Roman Catholic Church.
At this meeting, the first of the Albanian state praised him for his mission in promoting peace and building bridges of dialogue among peoples in a world challenged by conflicts and uncertainty. He praised the spiritual guidance of the Holy Father as a voice inspiring hope, compassion, and unity among humans.
May we be inspired by Pope Leon XIV's mission to peace and build bridges of dialogue to face challenges and uncertainty together. I believe Pope Leon XIV will bring peace, harmony and unity to the world”, Begaj declared.
He stressed that Albania is an example of religious coexistence, where tolerance, respect and harmony among faiths are values rooted in society and precious heritage over the generations.
“Albania is looking forward to continuing its warm and honest relationship with the Vatican”, he added.
