Begaj in the US: Without American leadership, we would not have an independent Kosovo

During the word at the theme forum <x) Begaj reaffirmed Albania's support for the Dayton Agreement and Bosnia and Herzegovina's Euro-Atlantic integration.
Pointing to international efforts to eliminate conflicts in our region, Begaj stressed that the Dayton Peace Agreement ended a brutal war in the Balkans, remaining a cornerstone of peace, stability and hope”. President Begaj underlined the importance of timely intervention in Kosovo, which helped prevent a catastrophe: the US “United States played a historic role in ensuring peace three decades ago. Without American leadership, the Dayton Accord would not have been possible. Without American leadership, we would not have an independent Kosovo. Moreover, our region would not have achieved its current stability without the steady commitment of the US”.
Albanian State head praised strategic partnership with United States, saying “Albania reaffirms its strong commitment to the fundamental values of democracy, promoting peace, security, stability, sustainable economic development and good neighbourly relations. We Albanians deeply respect and appreciate our friendship with the United States and are committed to strengthening it for generations to come”.
Begaj further praised the continued commitment of the US, NATO and the EU in the Balkan region, while expressing commitment as a member of the Euro-Atlantic Alliance to strengthen NATO solidarity, unity and cohesion, reports A2, broadcast Periscope.
