The scenes of celebrations with thousands of Liverpool fans that filled the streets to celebrate their club's victory in Premier League were quickly replaced by the scene of fear and confusion when emergency services arrived on the street about 6 p.m.

At a press conference late at night, the northwest Ambulance Service confirmed that 27 people had been sent to the hospital, with two having suffered serious injuries, one of whom was a child.
