Former Dutch Ambassador to our country Robert Bosch has criticised international access to Kosovo.
During yesterday's day, the European Union made an official statement expressing concern over the latest shares in the country's north, with particular emphasis calling on incumbent Prime Minister Albin Kurti, and institutions to refrain from destabilizing actions.
“Operations, inspections and recent closures of public services in Kosovo by police are at risk of exacerbating tension and negatively affecting the daily life of local communities, as well as damaging Kosovo's international position.
We are particularly concerned about operations against the Vodojvod Ibar company in northern Mitrovica and the water supply plant and public service company at Zubin Potok, which provide basic public services to communities living in the northern part of Kosovo”, the EU said.
According to former Ambassador Bosch, all these criticisms are inappropriate.
It's strange that so many internationals speak against logical actions to finally close up illegal parallel structures. If ethnic Serbs have to integrate, what we all want is that they have to close down. So criticism is inappropriate.
Reactions to Pristina authorities' recent actions in northern Kosovo continue in the media and social networks.
The Italian Embassy in Pristina expressed concern about Kosovo police's recent actions in the north, warning that such operations threaten escalation of tensions. “While we know the challenges in relations with Belgrade, we believe that a constructive and inclusive approach based on dialogue remains essential. Progress in normalising relations with Belgrade is essential for Kosovo's path towards the EU, which we fully support”, the embassy said. She also warned that such actions could negatively affect the daily life of Kosovo Serbs and other non-most communities and jeopardise tensions.
French Ambassador to Pristina Olivier Guerot expressed concerns about Pristina authorities' repeated actions against Serbia-led institutions in Kosovo, saying such actions send a negative signal to Kosovo partners.
The Kosovo authorities' repeated actions against Serbia-led structures in Kosovo that provide services to the Serb community are cause for concern. The issue of these structures should be addressed within the framework of EU-launched dialogue. These actions send a negative signal to Kosovo partners. France is closely following the impact of these decisions on the daily life of Kosovo Serbs”, Guerot wrote in a post on the social platform X.
The United Kingdom Embassy in Pristina also expressed concern about the unexpected and uncoordinated actions of Kosovo police in northern Mitrovica and Zubin Potok. The embassy warned that such actions risk escalating tensions and progressively erode confidence in Kosovo's ability to ensure the quality of daily life for its residents.
“We call on Kosovo institutions to take over and resolve institutions opposed through pro-active and constructive proposals in the context of the dialogue mediated by the EU”, the United Kingdom Embassy in Pristina said in response to the Kosovo portal Online” wrote in its post, Bosch./Periscopi/
