No Albanian accepted at last police competition in Serbia, KKSH reacts

The Albanian National Council (KKSH) has reacted sharply after publishing the latest lists by Serbia's Ministry of Internal Affairs, where no Albanians have been accepted in the competition for admission to Serbian police. According to KK chairman Enkel Rexhepi, out of 43 candidates admitted to Presevo and Bujanoc, as well as 22 to Medvedja, no Albanian figures. He describes this as an alarming signal and clear evidence of systematic discrimination against Albanians in Serbian state institutions.
This situation is a clear comeback in 2001, when Albanians were completely excluded from state structures. Their non-compliance is a violation of international agreements and a risk to co-existence”, Rexhepi writes in a Facebook post.
He recalled the Concul Agreement, signed 24 years ago, which envisioned the integration of Albanians into public institutions and the creation of a multiethnic police in the Presevo Valley. While during 2002,2004 became a considerable involvement, according to Rexhepi, this process has been completely halted since then.
The KKSH warned that if this trend continues, representation of Albanians in the police will be completely eliminated with the retirement of the current frameworks. The Council called for the urgent return of the multiethnic police programme as the only way to ensure fair and proportional representation, in line with the constitution, international agreements and the 7-point plan for the integration of Albanians into state institutions.
