Friday night marked the closure of the election campaign in Albania, paving the way for electoral silence that started at midnight and will last until the day of the vote on May 11th.
After weeks charged with political promises, mass rallies and hot rhetoric, Albania is now at a moment of reflection, with the focus shifting from parties to citizens and its election to the ballot box.
The Socialist Party officially completed its campaign with a large rally near Olympic Park in Tirana.
At the same time, the opposition coalition held its final rally on New Boulevard, delivering the last message ahead of the vote's battle.
This Saturday is prohibited from any public political activity, in line with the election law guaranteeing a day of calm for citizens before election day.
May 11th elections are historic not only for the weight of the electoral race, but also because for the first time, the Albanian diaspora has been involved in the voting process. /Periscope.
