The chairman of the Kosovo Economic Ode, Lulzim Rafuna, said the protest is the first step to express dissatisfaction with the ZRE decision.
“We are not against free market exit, but businesses must prepare for this transition. So far we've been trying to get our way through dialogue, but we haven't had the understanding of”, Rafuna said.
He explained that protesters would be deployed at several key opening points in the capital: Veternik, entrance from Gjilan, to Dukaagjini Center, entrance to Mitrovica and entry from Podujevo.
We ask the country's institutions not to harm businesses. The time we need for transition is a year”, he stressed. While the chairman of the Kosovo Alliance of Business, Agim Sahini, said the goal of the protest is not to stop work, but to send a clear message to institutions.
It is not our wish to stop business tomorrow and block the road, but it is a message that ZRE must be sent and other institutions so that this decision can be returned, at least for a transitional period. On the contrary, businesses will not think whether to employ new workers, but will lower the” criteria, Sahin said.
Ilir Ibrahimi, a member of the Organising Council, said the protest comes after many attempts to build a dialogue with institutions.
“proteta is just the last step, following many efforts we have had to build a dialogue and find solutions. We have found no dialogue languages from institutions and ZRE. By making this decision, we are heading towards closing the economy. The closure of the economy means the closure of the state”, he said. /Periscope/
