ZPS investigator had used “Kosovo and Metohija” interviewing a witness, The Hague says no more

The complainer in his letter has said that using this term to refer to the Republic of Kosovo was deeply insulting, since it is the term used by Serbia when referring to the Republic of Kosovo in a humiliating way.

“He further states that using such a label to describe Kosovo is disgusting and raises concerns about how the Specialised Prosecutor's Office understands the state and the people they represent. He claims that the use of the term “Kosovo and Metohia” by the Special Prosecutor's Representative conflicts with Article 1 of the Kosovo Constitution”, the document published on the page of Specialised Chambers says.

In response, the Specialised Prosecutor's Office had acknowledged that using the terminology “Kosovo and Metohija had been used wrong during the interview and that they have said that this terminology is not part of the practice of the Specialised Prosecutor's Office, the Express reported.

The Specialised Prosecutor's Office also confirmed that the term “Kosovo and Metohija” was used in the interview with the complainer and acknowledged that this was done by mistake. 17. In their response to this document, Ombudsperson has said he should refuse the complaint, since it does not punish any human rights violations.
