War crimes indictee Zoran Vukotic is silently defended

This statement was made at Tuesday's 15.04.2025 session at the Pristina Court.

The defendant, Zoran Vukotic, by Special Prosecutor, is being charged with four counts of war crimes during the Kosovo war period, report Callo. com, report Periscope.

At the session of 22.08.2024 with the proposal of defendant Zoran Vukotic's defender, lawyer Nebojsa Vlasic, had become uniting the criminal procedure for four counts of war crimes against the civilian population in Kosovo.

Presequently, this session became the management of material evidence for four indictments and then accused Vukotic when asked by the tribunal about his statement, accused Vukotic said he wanted to exploit his legal right to be protected in silence.

The parties in the procedure are expected to give their final word for this criminal case to the next session, which is scheduled for May 2025.

The court in this criminal case is made up of Beqman Beqiri chairman, Arben Hoti and Violet Namani-Hira members.

While the indictment is being represented by the prosecutor, Florije Salihu-Shamolli.

Defendant Zoran Vukotic in the first Special Prosecutor's Act, established in 20,04.2017, is charged that between the 2nd and 0305.1999, in the quality of police official reserve from the police station in Vushtrri, acting in co-ordination with members of Serbian forces, has participated in an attack on Albanian civilian population traveling in a convoy between the village of Epper Studies and Post Studies.

In addition, in the indictment, civilians reportedly were deliberately subjected to brutal and illegal killings, inhuman treatment, great suffering, displacement, application of measures of intimidation and terror, seizure of property, etc.

According to the indictment, among these civilians killed, injured and treated inhuman ways for which defendant Zoran Vukotic bears direct responsibility or in co-ordination with others have been: E.M., J.M., F.A., E.R., A.B., R.A., an unidentified 14-year-old, and H.A., U.S.G., M.G.

The Constitutional Court in Mitrovica, defendant Zoran Vukotic, had found him guilty of point III of the indictment, declaring him sentenced to 6 years and 6 months in prison for war crimes against the civilian population sanctioned by the Geneva Convention.

The Constitutional Court in Mitrovica had freed him from the first point that Zoran Vukotovic was tasked with participating in the killing of Albanian civilians in the village of Vushtrri Studies.

While for the second point of the indictment that charged Vukotovic with the quality of the reserve police from the police station in Vushtrri has participated in the illegal detention of a large number of Albanian civilian population in the former agricultural co-operative building in Vushtrri, during which civilians are deliberately subjected to inhuman treatment, for this point the prosecutor's indictment of the case was withdrawn from prosecution.

The Court of Appeals in 2019 had turned the case into retrial in terms of the preamble of the indictment charged by Zoran Vukocuth for participating in the murder of Albanian civilians in the village of Vushtrria Studies.

In addition, this court for the III point of the indictment had confirmed the sentence pronounced by accused Vukotic for six years and six months.

According to the second Special Prosecutor's Act of 16,05.2017, defendant Zoran Vukotic is charged that during the time of the war in Kosovo, on 5 May 1999, in Vushtrri, in co-ordination with defendant Gurob Paunovic, in the quality of the reserve in the Serbian police, dressed in police and Serbian military uniforms, as well as armed with knives, pistols and automatic rifles, after beating and robbing various persons of Albanian nationals in the courtyards and neighborhoods, deliberately beating and then killing four Albanian civilians, such as E.R., H.F., F. and F.

On the other hand, according to the second point of the indictment, Zoran Vukotic is accused of dehumanizing, dehumanizing bodily integrity, health, physical and mental well - being of injuries and witnesses, torturing them: S.F., F.S.S., V.J., Mr. J., N.J., B.J., Mr.J., B.P., L. R., G M., H. M., G.S., A.S., S.S., B.O., U.S., and F.M., who have been beaten with fists, kicks, and other powerful means, in various parts of the body, causing them severe physical and mental pain, the effects they bear today.

On the other hand, according to the third point of this indictment, defendant Zoran Vukotic is accused of being co-ordinated with dates, time, in place of the same quality as above contrary to the standards of international law in power during wartime in Kosovo have deliberately and violently robbed money in various sums, gold and other valuable things from Albanian civilians, namely from those damaged by V.J., N.J., Mr.J., B.O.O., B.M., A.H.H., H.F., H.F., F., F., and F.

With this defendant Vukotic in co-ordination has committed a criminal offence against the civilian population.

The Constitutional Court in Mitrovica, dated 16,05,2018 to defendant Zoran Vukotic, had freed him from the three points of the indictment, under the trial it was not proven that the same had committed criminal acts that were placed on him.

While the Court of Appeals in 2019 had turned the case into retrial. /Periscope/
