The protest will be held on Saturday, April 19th, starting at 12: 00 p.m. at Skenderbe Square in Pristina, follows Periscope.
Organisers call for mass participation, stressing that the price increase decision has been made despite numerous and argued objections from citizens, civil society organisations, experts and business community representatives.
The main demands of the protest are:
- Empowering the decision to increase electricity tariffs;
- The dismissal of the ZERE Board from the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo.
“This is not just a response to increased electricity prices. This is a call against all the economic burden being imposed on citizens, while the prices of products and services are becoming unaffordable for many,” The organizers' statement says.
