The president made this observation in a post on the Social Truth platform while on board Air Force One, returning to the United States after attending Papa Francisescu's funeral, where he also held a face-to-face meeting with Ukrainian President Volodyyr Zelensky in the Vatican.
Trump criticised the Russian leader for continuing bombings in Ukrainian civilian areas, writes SubtitlesAnd transmits Periscope.
“There was no reason for Putin to launch missiles in civilian areas, cities and villages over the past few days. That makes me think maybe he doesn't want to stop the war,” wrote Trump on his social platform.
He's just dragging me and he's supposed to be treated differently, by way of the Banks or Secondarne Sanctions? Too many people are dying!! ”
Meanwhile, in Moscow, Putin has reiterated the Russian side's readiness for talks with Ukraine without preconditions, during a meeting with Trump envoy Steve Witkoff, the Interfax news agency reported on Saturday, citing Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
Witkoff met with Putin for three hours in Moscow on Friday to discuss the US plan to end the war in Ukraine, and Trump had earlier declared that both sides were “very close to a” agreement, despite the apparent changes in their positions.
French President Emmanuel Macron said on Saturday, after a highly positive “exchange with Zelensky at the Vatican, that Ukraine was ready for an unconditional ceasefire and that the so-called “Game Coalition” led by France and Britain would continue to work to achieve it, as well as for lasting peace.
The outcome of the war in Ukraine is a goal we share with President Trump,” wrote Macro in a post on the social platform X.
“Ukrainian is ready for an unconditional truce. President Zelensky confirmed this to me today. He wants to work with Americans and Europeans to put it into effect. ”/Periscope/
