Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba said he told US President Donald Trump in a telephone conversation, that his tariff policies are extremely disappointing and has prompted him to reconsider.
Ishiba told reporters in Tokyo:
“I have said to the president that Japan has been the biggest investor in the United States for five years and that tariff policies can harm our Japanese companies' ability to invest”.
Ishiba also said he has agreed with Trump to continue a constructive dialogue on the issue.
