According to the BBC, the video posted on the internet seemed to show large flames and smoke rising after the missiles hit a two-story building. People, including some patients still in hospital beds, were filmed leaving the country quickly.
Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) claimed to have targeted the hospital because it contained a “command centre and control used by Hamas”. No casualties reported, according to Gaza civil emergency service.
However, a child who previously suffered a head injury died as a result of “process of hasty evacuation”, according to a statement by Jerusalem's Episcopal Dioces, part of the Church of England, which runs the hospital, Periscope.
The surrounding buildings, including the Church of St. Philip, were also damaged, the diocese said.
The Gaza Ministry of Health, led by Hamas, said the building of Arab Al Ahli Hospital was “completely destroyed”, leading to the mandatory “deployment of patients and hospital staff”.
The IDF said it had taken steps to ease the damage to civilians or hospital complex, including issuing advanced warnings in the area of terrorist infrastructure, using precise ammunition and air surveillance”.
A local journalist who was working at the hospital said the IDF had called a doctor who was operating in the emergency department and asked them to evacuate the hospital immediately.
All patients and displaced people must come to a safe distance. You have only 20 minutes to evacuate”, the officer said.
Social media images showed staff and patients leaving the building while outside it was still dark.
Dozens of Palestinians, including women and children, were also seen leaving a yard within the hospital, where they had sought refuge.
Khalil Bakr told the BBC Arab Gaza Lifeline programme that he and his three injured daughters had left the hospital only minutes before it was bombed.
The “was terrible,” he said. The whole situation was difficult because I'm already injured. And for my three daughters, one of them has had a leg cut off, and the other has his hand cut off, and the third has a body full of platinium 8x3>.

Al Ahli Arab a small medical facility before the war was the only fully operational hospital in the city of Gaza after the destruction of the Al-Shifa medical complex and other hospitals in the northern section of Belt.
In her statement, Hamas-led government media office condemned the attack.
Israel “was committing a terrible crime targeting al Ahli Arab, who houses hundreds of patients and medical staff”, he said.
United Kingdom Foreign Minister David Lami said that “such miserable attacks must end”, adding: Israel's “Sulmet to medical facilities have completely degraded access to healthcare in Gaza”.
In October 2023, an explosion in the same hospital killed hundreds of people.
The Israeli Army launched a campaign to destroy Hamas in response to an unprecedented cross-border attack on October 7, 2023, in which about 1,200 Israelis were killed and another 251 were taken hostage.
More than 50,933 people have been killed in Gaza since then, according to the Hamas Ministry of Health. Of them, 1,563 have been killed since March 18th, when Israel resumed its offensive at the Gaza Strip, the ministry said.
