Sudan faces world's worst humanitarian crisis

The conflict, which erupted on April 15th 2023 between the Sudanese Army and the paramilitary group Fast Support Forces (RSF), has caused catastrophic consequences for the population of 51 million. Tens of thousands of people have been killed, millions have moved and hundreds of thousands more face extreme hunger. According to data, more than 13 million people have been displaced, of which 4 million have crossed borders to neighboring countries, followed Periscope.
In recent weeks, refugee camps in the West Darfur region have been hit by serious RSF attacks, fearing that hundreds of civilians may have been killed in the latest atrocity of a war that has been plagued with brutal violence and human rights violations.
“Sudan is now worse than ever before,” said Elise Nalbandian from the Oxfam organisation. “We are dealing with the largest humanitarian crisis, the largest shift and the most extreme hunger a situation that is breaking all wrong records. ”
Daniel O'Malley, representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Sudan, stressed that massive violations of international humanitarian rights have been recorded.
