At the end of March 2021, the government “Kurti II” began its full mandate ) which is still in office.
The incumbent Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, and his 15 ministers have all submitted property statements this year.
According to data in these statements, incumbent Economy Minister Artane Rizvanolli, is noticeably more money than her colleagues in bank accounts, writes RELTransmiton Periscope.
However, since his first statement in 2021, when the minister was appointed, Rizvanolli had declared over 191 thousand euros in cash.
She had declared that this money had won during her previous commitments as consultant and legalising in various organisations and institutions, such as the German International Co-operation Agency (GIZ).
For most of them, much of the annual income comes from the salaries they receive for their positions.
In addition to willing money, state officials are forced to declare real estate in their possession and that of close family members.
What about other politicians?
Their wealth is forced to be declared by other public officials.
Political party officials, such as Memli Krasniqi of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Lumir Abdixhiku of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Ramush Haradinaj of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), President Vjosa Osmani, as well as Glauk Konjufca, who for four years held the post of parliament.
Their recently declared wealth... is different from what was declared four years ago. Some have been enriched, some declaring tens of thousands of euros less.
The AAK's Haradinaj, who declared that he mostly earns from the rent he receives from his property, continued to invest in real estate even in recent years.
The declaration of property by public persons in Kosovo has started since 2007.
After the completion of the property declaration process, The APK, by lot, selects a certain number of public officials who verify their declared property.
The property statement law is binding on senior public officials to declare their property 30 days from taking the new post, and then on an annual basis.
Lacking property, according to the Republic of Kosovo Penal Code, is sentenced to fines or imprisonment of up to three years, while the false declaration of wealth is punishable by fines and imprisonment of six months to five years.
So far, none of the officials who have not declared wealth has been sentenced to prison.
Industry, Intervention and Trade Minister Roseta Hajdari was sentenced at the end of 2022 with a 700-euro fine from the Constitutional Court in Pristina, due to the 2020 default of property within the legal deadline. /Periscope.
