The process is being criticised for lack of transparency, while monitors demand that the court not take grounds for evidence coming from Serbia, follows Periscope.
The next negotiating session will be held on April 23rd. Meanwhile, it is reported that the Court in The Hague has been ruling on continuing the detention measure against Hashim Thaci and Kadri Weselini for another two months.
The specialised prosecutor will wrap up today the witness call process in the case of Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, handing over all evidence he holds for the case.
Not giving details about the evidence, the Prosecutor's Office told RTK that everything will make known to the public after that deadline.
“The SPS is scheduled to wrap up the issue, as it had warned, April 15th. After the end of the case, it will issue a more detailed statement on this”, the prosecution's response states.
After the prosecution, the line comes to the defense of the accused, who have the right to file a motion for dropping the indictment or any part of it.
RTK has also sought answers from the protection of four indictees, who during the day have not responded. Meanwhile, days ago, Thaci's defence, Luka Mistic, has said they plan to call about 10 witnesses, giving no more details than anyone will call him.
This process has repeatedly been called nontransparent to its monitors. Astrit Kolaj from the Kosovo Institute for Justice says the court should thoroughly analyse the evidence the prosecution will hand over.
“We think that the court should do the analysis and place the weight on all evidence that the prosecution has established and all those documents that have been taken, if it's correct that they've been taken from Serbia, we appreciate that the court should not take these evidence delivered”, Kolaj said.
Meanwhile, the Specialised Chambers have indicated that on April 23rd they will hold the upcoming conference on the performance of the case in Thaci and others.
As far as the calendar is concerned, there are nine court hearings scheduled in April and May for the Kosovo Liberation Army leaders.
