The Special Prosecutor's Department refers to Kosovo as Kosovo and Metohija

As indicated in the complaint to the SPS Ombudsman, on November 11th of 2022, the complainer was interviewed by two SPS employees and at the beginning of the interview one of the employees when reading a document referred to the Republic of Kosovo in the words “Kosovo of Metohija”.
November 11, 2022, the complainer was interviewed by two SPS employees. At the beginning of the interview, one of the employees, while reading a document, referred to the Republic of Kosovo in the words Metohija's unjustly. At that moment, the complainer did not raise any objections and concern over the use of the expression Kosovo and Metohija, after he was advised not to do so by his protector. However, at the end of the interview, he expressed his concern about using this expression in document”, said the interviewee's complaint to the ombudsman, the report. Report ten.

The following “stipulates that using such labels to describe Kosovo is disgusting and raises concerns about the concept that the SPS has for the state and the people it represents. He claims that the use of the term Kosovo and Metohija from the SPS conflicts with Article 1 of the Kosovo Constitution”, said among other things in the complaint interviewed by the ombudsman.
The complainer also claims that the use of the term was not simply the result of a language error on the part of the SPS representative, and notes the fact that the representative in question was reading it from a document when using the term.
And on February 9, 2023, Z. The SP responded to the ombudsman. The ZPS officially acknowledged that the term “Kosovo of Metohija” was used in the interview with the complainer and acknowledged it was done by mistake.
“The SPS stated that this term is not part of the standard practice of SPS, nor is it used in standard or pro-form forms of documents the SPS uses. The SPS dismissed the complainer's claim that her employees had been indifferent to his complaint, which he had voiced at the end of the interview. Z The SP informed the ombudsman that after the interview, several steps were taken to determine how this error had occurred and to prevent its repetition. Also, employees were given further instructions on the context of this term”, the ZPS's reasoning states.
The ombudsman acknowledges that the use of the term Kosovo and Metohija was insulting to the complainer. Despite this, according to the ombudsman, the SPS had used this term in an unintentional and mistaken way.
The ombudsperson has dropped this complaint based on Procedure and Testing Rule regulation 29ė, as it does not prove there have been human rights violations by the SPS.
