Seven young Spanish tourists have been rescued after an incident involving about 100m under the Pestura Canyon in southern Albania.
Sources from the site suggest that everyone is in good health and that the rescue operation is on the way out, Periscope.
Three of the tourists had damaged the landing line on a small waterfall at the bottom of the canyon, which made it impossible for them to climb without special equipment.
The rescue operation has taken part in the fire and police forces of Tepelena and Gjirokastra, which have intervened in time to help young people.
Spanish tourists were exploring the area without a licensed guide, increasing the risk on difficult terrain such as the canyons.
This is not the first case of similar incidents in the south of the country. Uncertain explorations in the canons of Nivica and Langarica have earlier brought similar situations, raising concerns about tourist safety and the need for professional orientation in dangerous natural areas.
