Spain's Interior Ministry has declared emergency situation after massive power cuts Monday, writes “BBC”.
The causes of problems are still being investigated, but the possibility of cyberattack is currently ruled out.
Spain's Interior Ministry has said that emergency status can apply to the regions seeking it. So far Madrid, Andalousia and Extemadada have called on the central government to take public order and other functions into account.
Otherwise, Spain and Portugal were hit Monday by a power cut that paralysed public transportation, causing major jams in traffic and delays in flights. Currently, public service operators are trying to restore power grid function. /Periscopi/
