US Senator breaks record, gives 25-hour speech criticising Trump

Booker's speech was a marathon protest against the Trump administration, during which he described this period as a serious and urgent “moment in American history. It was an extraordinary act of stability, while the Democrats seek to show their supporters that they are doing everything to oppose the president's agenda, follows Periscope.
He broke a record 68 years ago by Senator Strom Thurmond of South Carolina, who gave a long speech to counter the 1957 Civil Rights Act. During his speech, Booker spoke of his roots as the successor of slaves, discussed important issues such as cuts in the Social Security Bureau and warned of a nearby constitutional “cresis”.
The former presidential candidate also spent time reciting poetry, discussing sports and answering questions from colleagues. During the talk, he also read letters from voters as he criticised Trump's statements on the annexation of Greenland and Canada.
At the end of his speech, Booker urged Americans to respond not only to resistance to the policies of Trump administration but also kindly and generously. He concluded his speech with the words: “I may fear my voice may tremble but I will speak more. ”
