At the time when Kosovo is facing challenges to forming stable institutions, Germany's ambassador to Kosovo, Jorn Rohde, has stressed the importance of a stable majority and building consensus to ensure stability and long-term development.
He compared the current situation in Kosovo to developments in Germany after the elections, noting the importance of forming a functional government.
You know, like in my country, we just had a choice. It takes time to form a government. Most importantly, we have a stable government with a good majority and consensus to form the new government. And so I look towards Germany. We hope to form a government until next week. And I think it's self-aware, I mentioned in an interview last week, which, you know, especially in these unstable geopolitical times, what's in the interest of countries and peoples is to have stable government”, Rohde told EO.
Likewise, Rohde cited the importance of justice institutions and strengthening constitutional democracy, praising the Constitutional Court as a key element in preserving democratic order.
“Constitutional patriotism is necessary, because the three pillars of a democracy are judiciary, executive power and legislative power, so it is very important to have an institution as the Constitutional Court. And constitutional democracy can flourish only if the rules of the game are respected. And the Constitutional Court is there to make sure the rules of the game are respected. So, in that sense, every institution must do its part and only then do we have a living democracy”, the German ambassador concluded.. /Periscopi/
