Thanks to Röpke for the support given over the years, Rama did not save the lines:
I don't know what your next job will be, but be sure that Albania will give you a job if Brussels is to retaliate and neglect you. I can offer you a job besides my post. ”
Rama added that Röpke “was a true unionist who broke glass ceilings for Albania” and stressed that his work would remain an important foundation for the future.
In his address, the prime minister noted the importance of the European Union's presence for Albania, comparing it to countries that have undergone failed interventions like Afghanistan or Iraq:
“Without the EU, based on our history, we wouldn't be where we are today. ”
