Prosecutor Seeks Sentence, Protection Release of Former Guardian Milenkovic, Charged for War Crimes

According to the indictment, Milenkovic, in the quality of the guard in Pristina and Lipjan prisons, has dehumanised prisoners, reports “Battle for Justice”, broadcast Periscope.

The case attorney, Father and Dema, stated that the Special Prosecutor has fully proved the accused's guilt and responsibility.

He stressed that during the trial, witnesses have been heard, most of whom have claimed that “ky is the one Dragisa has tortured us, both psychologically and physically. ”

The same “has deliberately committed these acts that he is accused of because they are not actions that can be taken by accident. Therefore, all conditions have been met for him to be punished according to law”, prosecutor Dema said.

He judges to declare the accused guilty and condemn him by law.

As for the extenuating and exacerbating circumstances, Dema said that “takes into account the harsh manner and the determination with which criminal acts were committed, there are no extenuating circumstances that could be taken into account. ”

The defendant's defender, lawyer Jovana Filipovic, said material evidence is missing in this process, and that neither the prosecution nor the trial can stand without them.

“We have had evidence that we have delivered, but they have been declared illegal for political and not legal reasons”, lawyer Filipovic said.

According to her, there is no evidence that Dragisa Milenkovic has committed the criminal act he is accused of.

Lawyer Djean Vasic said that, in addition to witnesses of the damaged side, his defender Dragisa Milenkovic has also been heard in the process, who has provided a clear mirror of events in Pristina district prison.

“Prisoners were not persecuted by prison guards, but by members of state security”, Vasic said, supporting his colleague's proposal, lawyer Jovana Filipovic, for a free trial act.

On the same line was lawyer Zivojin Jokanovic, who claimed to be reconciled with his colleagues and called for a liberating act of prejudice for Milenkovovic.

In his address, accused Dragisa Milenkovic said he did not commit any crime.

He has declared that if he had accomplished this work, he would not have sworn in children and included the family.

The incident, founded on December 26th, 2023 by the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo, charges Dragisa Milenkovjcin that in the quality of Pristina and Lipjan Prison Guardian, during the period of war in Kosovo 1998-1999, in Pristina and Lipjan Prison, in systematic co-ordination had persecuted Albanian prisoners.

On January 10, 2024, Milenkovic was declared innocent of war crimes at the initial session, while he pleaded guilty to illegal possession. /Periscope/
