The shake comes at a time when the country is still engaged in relief efforts and recovery following the massive 7.7-magnitude earthquake that rocked the central region on 28 March.
According to foreign media, there were no immediate reports of major damage or victims as a result of the recent earthquake, which is one of the strongest among the hundreds after the quakes last month.
Since Friday, the death toll from that earthquake was 3,649, with 5,018 injured,” declared Major General Zaw Min Thun, spokesman for the Myanmar military government.
Myanmar's Meteorological Department explained that Sunday's earthquake occurred in the area of the town of Woodwin, about 60 miles [97 km] south of Mandalay, at a depth of 20 miles [20 km].
Meanwhile, the United Nations warned last week that the effects of the 28 March earthquake will further exacerbate the humanitarian crisis in the country, where civil war has displaced over 3 million people./Periscopi/
