The Assembly failed to be constituted even in its sixth constitutional session attempt because Vetevendosje's candidate for Parliament Speaker Albulen Haxhiu did not get enough votes for the fourth.
The first party, Vetevendosje, is insisting on its candidacy, while opposition parties are rejecting Haxhiu as a candidate with the reason he is not a consensus figure.
The Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI) earlier has stated that it is time for President Vjosa Osmani to take the initiative and call a meeting with parliamentary political party leaders to discuss any possible solution since hearings have entered “an absurd cycle of sessions every 48 hours”.
“The constitution charges it [President Osmani] with the task of guaranteeing the constitutional functioning of institutions, and in a situation like this where the highest representative institution is blocking its political and institutional commitment is justified but also necessary”, KDI has said.
