The pilot's radio call detected shortly before the helicopter crash on the Hudson River

The pilot of the tourist helicopter that crashed in the New York City's Hudson River warned that they were out of fuel just prior to the tragedy that killed all six on board. The pilot has not yet been officially identified. The tragedy occurred about 15:15 Thursday.
Calls for emergency services were received at around 15:17, just 17 minutes after leaving downtown Manhattan.
Michael Roth, 71, who owns New York helicopter who offered the tour and helicopter, said the plane needed fuel.
He [the pilot] called that he was sitting and that he needed fuel, and should have taken about three minutes to get there, but 20 minutes later, he failed,” Roth told The Telegraph.
Roth said he started receiving a series of phone messages before one of the other pilots flew over Hudson and saw the helicopter fall.
