Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has stayed for an official visit to Finland. There, the chief of state of Kosovo has also provided an interview for the Finnish media “Yle”.
Speaking of Russia's aggression against Ukraine, Osmani has said that official Moscow has tripled the money it spends on propaganda and deinformation in the Western Balkans.
“This shows that Russia has a particular interest in the” region, president Osmani has said.
According to Osmani, the situation in the Western Balkans has remained tense to this day. She says Serbian President Alexader Vucic thinks the same as Vladimir Putin and that both deny the existence of neighbouring countries.
“Situate is disturbing, as Serbia consistently acts on Russia's wishes. Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq, like Vladimir Putin, thinks in a hegemonistic manner that denies the existence of neighbouring countries. When you read the academic writings of countries, Serbs and Russians believe that they are holy peoples under whom others must live. This kind of imperialist thought is dangerous and belongs to the past”, she said.
For the Porfirije meeting with Vladimir Putin, Osmani has said that at that meeting it is openly discussed the invasion of Montenegro, Bosnia and Kosovo.
According to President Osmani, some countries in the EU seem to think that Vuciqi can only be contained through concessions which keep him happy.
“However, it has only led to new violence”, Osmani has indicated.
She further says she finds it strange that the EU is increasing aid for Serbia, while official Belgrade continues to promote violence in neighbouring countries and avoids implementing the agreements already made.
President Osmani has said that Kosovo has never been a source of tension.
Instead, the country has repeatedly opened the door of friendship and co-operation with Serbia. Serbia has never apologized for war crimes or crimes against humanity committed against our people. We have never demanded revenge, but justice”, the president of Kosovo has said.
According to President Osmani, Serbia must gradually learn that Kosovo is to stay and that there is no return to the past. /Periscope
