Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has congratulated NATO for the 76th anniversary of the Alliance's creation, stressing its importance to global peace and security.
In her post, Osmani stressed that NATO has been a key factor in saving millions of lives in Kosovo, 26 years ago, and that the backbone of peace and security in the region continues to remain and beyond.
“Today, we honor a Alliance that is built not only on power but on a common goal of belief that freedom, dignity, and peace are values worthy of protection. Twenty-six years ago, NATO helped save millions of lives in Kosovo. It continues to remain the backbone of peace and security in our region, throughout Europe and around the world.” wrote Osman on Twitter Periscope.
She added that Kosovo is willing to contribute more to strengthening peace and security, standing side by side with the allies and expressing Kosovo's commitment to becoming a NATO member in the future.
“Kosovo is willing to make its contribution. We have stood side by side with our allies and will continue to remain partners, as contributors and as future members. Because NATO membership is not only our goal. It is the next chapter on a joint journey for peace and lasting security. It's over.
