Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has commemorated the Massacre in Poklek and Cikotova.
A six - month - old baby was also among the victims, Periscope.
Osmani said it is a duty for victims to seek justice.
“Today is not enough to remember them. We must seek justice. Not just for Freedom, but for every child killed, for every family that died. Justice is not revenge. It's the most minimal promise we owe to the victims. It is our responsibility not to be covered by forgotten dust or silence. Let's not stop until justice prevails. Because without it, without the truth spoken and known, without responsibility for the crimes, there is no lasting peace”, Osmani said.
Among the 54 killed in Poklek, 24 were children from six months old to 17. They were brutally killed and then burned by forces of the Serbian genocide regime, whose aim was extinction. Among the victims was Freedom, a mere six - month - old baby named after an ideal who had not yet lived. She never enjoyed freedom. But her name remains a gift to each of us. Such remains the names of 23 people killed in Old Chikatova”, she said.
