Democratic League of Kosovo leader(LDK) Lumir Abdixhiku has said the door is open to opposition subjects for a joint government if the Vetevendosje Movement fails to form the government.
At no moment have we closed the door of co-operation with the opposition, but it is up to the first to try and we prefer the opposition and that Kosovo needs a stable government for the future”, Abdixhik said at the RTV Debat Plus in Dukajni.
The “Electorate has decided that the LDK will give 20 seats. It doesn't make sense that in 20 terms we rush the government. It does not rule out the possibility that after the first party's failure, we sit down again [with the opposition] and say we take the initiative for an institutional stability”, he has said further.
The LDK leader has said that each party in the Assembly could form the government if they do the majority after the first failure.
If you fail first, the barrier to forming government does not. Any party in the Assembly can form governments if it makes the majority. Do we want to take this responsibility we will gather in the party first and if there is will within the party we can sit with other parties”.
Abdixhiku has further expressed itself against forming new municipalities in calculations for forming the government, adding that it is neither of interest nor should it be brought into the matter, especially when it is known that some small municipalities have operating problems, so this issue should be analysed but not now./Periscopi/
