Multinational Reserves Dislocated in Support of KFOR
Pristina, April 01th 2025. Albanian, Bulgarian, Greek and Romanian soldiers from the Operational Reserves began their deployment in support of the NATO-led KFOR mission in Kosovo.
The Multinational Task Force battalion (ORF) took over duties from the Turkish Reserve Operational Force Battalion, according to a rotating plan of forces supervised by NATO Joint Force Command at Naples (Italy). It has a force of about 270 soldiers and will operate temporarily, along with 200 already deployed reserve forces from the Italian brigade “Sassar.” These reinforcements together with KFOR troops increase KFOR's ability to react to possible security situation developments, in line with its long-term mandate from the United Nations, based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244.
KFOR continues to contribute to the creation of a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo at any time and impartially, to close co-ordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union's Mission for Rule of Law in Kosovo (EULEX), in line with their respective roles as security responses./Periscopi/
