Mustafa: Kurt's coming up with self-denial, the situation is changing everyone's power to rule.

Former Prime Minister Isa Mustafa has commented on the current political situation in the country, stopping particularly from failing to elect the Speaker of the Parliament and the challenges facing the Vetevendosje Movement after the last elections. Mustafa estimates that the failure to resolve the chief parliament and institutional stalemate are the result of Vetevendosje's discontent with the election outcome, as well as its attempt to gain time in the post of finding a new form of government or to go back to the elections.

He emphasises that Albulen Hadziu's proposal for Parliament Speakers should not become an obstacle to forming institutions, while appealing for a comprehensive political solution to be found.

Mustafa also estimates that the silence of incumbent Prime Minister Albin Kurti under these circumstances is unacceptable, urging him to assume political responsibility and clear communication with citizens.

In this tense situation, according to Mustafa, opposition parties and the president of the Republic have an important role to promote dialogue and overcome political blockade.

How did Albulen Hadziu's failure to elect Speaker of the Parliament five times in a row, and do you think this failure is the result of a deeper political rift?

Isa Mustafa: I appreciate that the VV is not satisfied with the election results, and they are buying time to find a solution to make a government that it would approve or go to new elections.

Do you think Albulen Haxhiu is the right proposal for the chief parliament and if not who do you think would be an acceptable name?

Isa Mustafa: The party that came first in the election -- in this case LVV -- has the right to propose each of its own deputies, but also other subjects for chairman of the Assembly. I don't give myself the right to tell you who the shooter would be. But the shot move would be not to block the proposal in a name which MPs of the subjects who were formerly in opposition are not voting on. I may be mistaken, but it seems to me that this situation is presently convening to all, because no one but the statements is having the guts to challenge governance.

How do you appreciate the silence of Albin Kurti, and do you feel that you should be able to speak to the citizens about the situation?

Isa Mustafa: Albin Kurti is literally coming out to be a negration of herself. He's doing everything he's been attacked and criticized. But outside that assessment, it is up to citizens and their many voters to inform what the solution is to Kosovo. The leader is entitled to make decisions and make public. Take the risk of his decisions.

Do you see any danger of Kosovo going to the polls again because of the inability to register the Assembly?

Isa Mustafa: I see choices as alternative. Not as danger. The danger lies with parties, they must measure. But there is space for political subjects to sit down jointly and offer solutions to the country. To give up statements that cannot allow cooperation.

Even in the past we didn't agree, but we've communicated, we've created space and conditions to talk, no matter the epilogue.

How do you assess the position the opposition parties have taken and are they playing a constructive role, or are they benefiting from <x0...kaosi”?

Isa Mustafa: In this situation, no party is in position or in opposition. The chances of making the government are roughly the same, the hesitation is also, roughly the same. I don't see the benefits of anyone from this chaos situation, as you're defining. No party can benefit if the country is damaged.

How do you see the role and attitude of President Vjosa Osmani in this political situation and have special responsibilities to help overcome the blockade?

Isa Mustafa: The president should work to find a way out. The situation, separately in the election of the chief parliament, as regards the solution given by the Constitutional Court in 2014 could drag on indefinitely. This situation results in political solutions rather than legal standards. I can't talk about what the president's authority is in political subjects now, given that she's been too close to the VV by the end of last year. But he should give up walking and doing chores./Periscopi/
