By PolyticoThe billionaire and owner of Tesla and SpaceX will soon withdraw from this role and return to his business.
Musk currently has special status as a “special government employee”, which temporarily excludes him from certain ethical rules and conflicts of interest. This 130-day deadline is expected to expire in late May or early June, Telegrafi reports Periscope.
A senior administration official told Politico that Musk will likely retain a informal role as adviser and continue to appear occasionally in the White House environments.
Trump hinted Monday that Musk would have to return to business “at a certain moment”.
I think it's great, but I also think there's a big company to run and so, at some point, it's going to be back”, Trump said and added that “ai wants to do it. I'd keep it as long as I could hold it”.
