“The shameless intervention of European bureaucratics in the internal affairs of a sovereign state like Serbia is unacceptable”. With those words Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova reacted to EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos' statement that Alexander Volin should not be part of Serbia's future government because of ties with Moscow.
She stressed that Brussels officials do not have legal rights -- much less moral -- to impose on any country what policy to follow, writes A2cn, Periscope.
Zakharova also commented on co-operation between Serbia and the EU in the field of defence industry, as well as the fact that Serbia and Hungary signed a military agreement. The Kremlin official said she considers it absurd to be approaching a sinking ship, as he described it.
“The EU is sinking. Economics, politics, industry, production, finance, everything's failing, everything's sinking, that's clear. Why join that sinking ship and go to the end with it? This is completely unclear,” It was Zakharova's words. Also, it questioned the bloc's defence industry and overall military potential
