Kosovo benefits 5m euros grant from BERZH

The Minister of Finance, Labour and Transfers, Iron Murati, has signed today the grant agreement worth 5m euros, along with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Director (BERZH), Sergiy Maslichenco and the representative of the regional water pipeline company “Mitrovica”, the Kurti Union. This grant is part of the infrastructure development project [...]
This grant is part of the project to develop sewage infrastructure in the Mitrovica region and envisions the construction of a modern sewage treatment plant, as well as rehabilitation and expansion of the existing network in Mitrovica and Vushtrri municipalities, including surrounding areas.
The project will significantly improve living conditions for some 123,000 residents of the area, significantly reducing environmental pollution and contributing to the protection of local water resources from untreated sewage dumps.
So far, the total funding value for the project amounts to about 38m euros, where the 5m-euro grant has been secured as a result of Kosovo's successful application in the Investment Framework for the Western Balkans. This agreement is evidence of commitment to sustainable development, environmental protection and guaranteeing quality services to citizens.
