Through an announcement KEK has stressed that maintenance teams will begin the process of sancing damaged tubes.
In the meantime, KEK has managed to secure about 5,000 MWh of electricity from external sources, representing approximately 90% of the planned production capacity of the facility B2”, it says in the report.

B2 Unit Ban Warning
Kosovo Energy Corporation ( KEK sh.a.) reports that the B2th power plant “Kosovo B” has stopped working in the early hours of today's morning, by the date: 09.04,2025, due to significant water flows.
It is noteworthy that the last time this unit had such a leak was in 04.12.2024, and to prevent any defect with larger consequences, its ban has been necessary.
Our maintenance teams and technical experts are on full alert to start the process of sancing damaged tubes. Based on preliminary assessments, this process is expected to last about 48 hours.
Meanwhile, KEK has managed to secure about 5,000 MWh of electricity from external sources, representing approximately 90% of the planned production capacity of the B2 unit.
