“We received the request from the interested parties, from Oman playing the moderator, and we gave a positive answer”, Tajan was quoted as saying by the leading Italian news agency, ANSA, Pryscopi follows.
The Italian top diplomat's comments suggest that even though Italy will be hosting the second round of talks on April 19th, Oman will continue to serve as mediator in these indirect talks.

In a surprise development, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aracchi and US envoy for the Middle East Steve Whitoff met briefly after the end of talks in Oman, adding optimism that relations between the two countries have taken a step forward.
