President Trump's decision has prompted numerous reactions, where it has also called on the Government to remove customs duties for American products coming to Kosovo.
Democratic League of Kosovo MP Avdullah Hoti has said it is great damage for Kosovo that no agreements signed in 2020 were implemented in the LDK-led government and its partners. He has published agreements that were signed:
1. The Washington Agreement of September 4, 2020, which included major infrastructure projects, the gas project in particular that would have created energy independence and we would not have faced a third-time energy price increase today in the last two years and had security of supply.
2. The US-Kosovo Investment Inentibility Agreement, dated 31 December 2020, which included the possibility of the DFC supporting businesses through lending and investments in equity, investment guarantees, investment insurance, feasibility projects, etc.
3. The US-Kosovo Understanding Memorial of 23 October 2020 for co-operation between the two countries in the security of 5G technology. He has added further that if these agreements were implemented, today Kosovo's strategic partnership with the US would be at very high levels.
Therefore, it is vital for Kosovo to have a pro-American and pro-European government that returns Kosovo's close friendship with the US, returning to these agreements, which can travel whenever necessary to Washington for consultation and support”, he added.
