A serious event occurred in the capital on Tuesday, where a 68-year-old was taken hostage by five people on “George W. Bush”, near the Parliament area in Tirana.
Through film footage, police have identified the authors, who have forcibly taken her to a vehicle and then requested over the phone a $2 million worth of money from her husband's life. The 68-year-old's wife then handed this amount to citizens B. I., in the South area, escorts Periscope.

“Under operation “Medias”, the 5 suspected citizens involved in this case were arrested, namely: citizens S. S., 31, K. (Volunteer), I. M., 21, B. I., 57, and N. B., 32, all residents in Tirana”, police report.
Police say raids have been conducted on the residences of these citizens as well as in a vehicle by which citizens S. S. and citizen N. B., where they were found and seized 1,746 000 suspected cash from the can.
Police Notification
Immediately after information provided by police intelligence, that on the date of 29.04.2025, some citizens had forcibly taken a citizen who had been held hostage and in exchange for his freedom had received a large sum of money, Randa Crimes Investigation Unit specialists have organised work to identify and arrest authors.
As a result of the quick and professional actions, carried out under operation “Imediates”, the 5 suspected citizens involved in this case were arrested, namely: citizens S. S., 31, K. (Volunteer), I. M., 21, B. I., 57, and N. B., 32, all residents in Tirana.
From investigations, film footage and provided evidence has resulted in citizens S. S., K. S. and I. M., on “George W. Bush” has been forcibly taken into a vehicle and held hostage at an abandoned village of Kakunja, citizen E. A., 68 years old. And then they called his wife, who was blackmailed for 68-year-old life, asking him for 2,000 dollars. This amount has been handed over to citizens B. I., in the South area.
Following the full-blowning action of the event, checks have been conducted in the residences of these citizens as well as in a vehicle by which citizens S. S. and citizen N. B., where they were found and seized 1,746 000 suspected money taken through the can, by wife and citizens E. A.
