Hasani: Kosovo Constitution established in co-operation with Western allies

Today marks the 17th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, an essential document defining the judicial foundations of the state. The constitution was ratified on April 9th 2008 and went into effect on June 15, 2008, giving Kosovo a clear legal framework for citizens' fundamental rights and freedoms.

Former Constitutional Court Chairman Enver Hasani on show “DPS Fidani” has spoken of the main pillars of the Kosovo Constitution.

He has said that the Constitution of Kosovo has been created in co-operation with the Western, Allied states.

The Constitutional Council, I think, is sovereignty and democratic order, which protects sovereignty and democratic order. The second is the freedoms and rights of all, then the equality is brought before the law and the protection of communities not majority, after which is direct implementation of international law, the primacy of the Constitution to any other thing except when it is the will of the state of Kosovo, that is, to apply something other than the case of carrying on as judicial sovereignty at The Hague”

“As the last criterion is I would say integration of international order, and that is why constitutional interpretations are done without knowing the international right, the Constitution of Kosovo is a problem with properly interpreting”.

“Relation of the Constitution is the exercise of the constitutional people's constitutional powers or power, that power in the Kosovo case has been exercised in full co-ordination and with close co-operation with the international factor with our friends. Kosovo's Constitution and Declaration of Independence are both of Western countries”, Hasani has said. /Periscope
