Alliance for the Future of Kosovo Chairman Ramush Haradinaj has said the memorial “Blaca 99” is living evidence of collective memory and learning how expensive freedom is.
Through a Facebook post, he further states that Serbian barbaria did not stop only with massacres, but robbed, burned and destroyed everything belonging to Albanians.
The freedom we enjoy today has a high price, that of countless sufferings and sacrifices that we have spent as a people over the centuries. The systematic terror exercised by the Serbian state and lack of basic conditions for living forced thousands of Albanians to abandon their own lands. Many of them did not have the chance to experience freedom day, while the living, in free Kosovo, were forced to start all over again. Serbian barbaria did not stop only with massacres, but robbed, burned and destroyed everything belonging to Albanians. The “Blace 99” is a vivid testimony to the collective memory and learning of how expensive freedom is and how painful and how much sacrifices there are to this freedom”, Haradinaj wrote.
