For three straight days, Kosovo has been the target of co-ordinated cyber attacks, allegedly coming from groups of hackers with links to Russia and with possible support from the Russian state.
The attacks have affected a large number of state institutions and organisations, including the prime minister's official page, ministries, Pristina Airport and other important public platforms.
Cyber security researcher Halil Berisha has announced through a Facebook post that these attacks relate directly to Kosovo's political stance on the war in Ukraine. According to him, the reason for the attacks is the military support Kosovo offers to Ukraine.
“Arsie is the military support Kosovo does to Ukraine,” Berisha stressed.
He has described the nature of the attacks as clear and identifiable. <x) /Periscope

Kosovo has been facing attacks by Russia for three days!
Groups of hackers of Russian origin, but suspected of supporting the Russian state, have attacked the websites of many Kosovo institutions.
From the page of the prime minister, ministries, airport, but also various organisations.
The reason for this is the “military support Kosovo makes for Ukraine”.
Most of the sites now attacked have returned and function smoothly.
According to all signs, the attack is DDoS and the data is secure.
This attack leads to visits large enough at the same time that websites cannot afford.
Kosovo institutions have reacted very quickly and have protected the infrastructure against these Russian attacks!
This proves that Kosovo has human capacities that need to be taken seriously. Reaction to attacks (such as still offline) has been quick to defend, but in terms of preventing such attacks, greater work is needed.
These attacks should provide information on the matter.
Also, these Russian groups are preparing for a new wave of attacks, including companies, so that preparations from each institution, agencies, companies and organization must be started for protection!
