Through a Facebook post, Gruda says Kosovo is facing a blockade and that a party has taken the institutions hostage and is trying to replace constitutional order with its leader's arbitrary will.
The constitution gives the largest party the right to propose the candidate for the Speaker of the Parliament, but does not force anyone to vote on it. If it were otherwise, the Constitution would have envisioned the chairman's appointment by the largest party, without voting procedure. Moreover, the demand that MPs vote on a specific basis Albulen Haxhiun is totally irrational and contrary to the fundamental principles of parliamentary democracy, because MPs are not swimmers of the decisions of a single party, they represent the will of citizens and have the right to vote according to their belief”.
This totally meaningless approach of LVV clearly shows the lack of respect this party has for the Constitution and fundamental principles of democratic order. For LVV, the constitution is beneficial only when it serves their party interests, while in any other case they try to interpret it or ignore it according to political whims. For populist parties such as LVV, the Constitution and the political free will of MPs are not values that must be protected, but obstacles that must be overcome to realise their political goals. Therefore, today Kosovo is facing institutional blockades: a party has taken the institutions hostage and is trying to replace constitutional order with the arbitrary will of its leader”, he has written. /Periscope
