Former Defence Minister Sadika Cofrc does not support the idea of creating the Bosnian municipality in Kosovo.
Cofrc-Skiner has said the creation of the Bosnian municipality creates unnecessary pressure and tension among the population.
Bosnian subx0> Union, as well as all other minority communities in Kosovo, should not target the creation of new separate municipal structures but actively participate in social, political and institutional flows within existing municipalities, which function within the constitutional order of the Republic of Kosovo. Kosovo's constitution guarantees rights for all communities, including the right to language, culture, education and representation, and right through the existing system of local self-government these rights can and must be realised.
The requirements for creating new municipalities on ethnic grounds create unnecessary pressure and tensions among the population, undermine interethnic relations and promote unwanted comparisons with the demands of the Serb community, which have long been the source of political blockades and destabilisation. The Government's task is not to support the fragmentation of society, but to ensure respect for the Constitution and equality of all citizens in any part of Kosovo's territory. Integration, mutual respect and institutional participation are the only way towards building a functional and multiethnic society” writes in reaction, Kofrc./Periscopi/
