Court nominated by 30 days of detention to four Serbs arrested in Gjakova

The Constitutional Court in Gjakova has approved the request of Gjakova's Constitutional Prosecutor, appointing the detention measure of thirty-30 days for four suspected persons -- B.R., N.V., P.K. and M.S., all of Serbian nationalism. They are suspected of co-ordinating criminal activity “maintaining ownership, control or unauthorized possession of weapons”.

The men who were arrested days earlier were shown as pilgrims, and then it was understood that one of them was lieutenants of Serbia's police and another Serbian Army captain. The other two were confirmed at Monday's session that they work at Serbian security institutions. They found cold guns and a axe.

“According to the Prosecution, on April 5, 2025, on the “Gasper Karaqi” street in Gjakova, suspects were detained by Kosovo Police after their vehicle, a grey-colored Toyota type, had exceeded speed in a restricted area. The vehicle was run by defendant B.R. During the ban, the same has stated that it possesses nothing illegal and has expressed readiness for car control. During the raid, however, police have found an axe, a knife and a saw sawing knife that the suspects had with them during an organised visit to several Orthodox monasteries on the territory of the Republic of Kosovo.

The trial judge, Samedin Cena, has estimated that legal conditions for the detention assignment have been met, taking into account the risk of repeating criminal acts and the possibility of fleeing from justice in case of being released. The defendants will be held in custody for a period of 30 days, calculated from the arrest date of April 5th 2025, and will last until May 5th 2025. The sides are entitled to this decision at the Kosovo Court of Appeal”, the media communiqué said./Periscopi/
