BQ: Diaspora for two months brought about 175m euros to Kosovo

The Kosovo Central Bank (BQK) reports the remittances, as the main category under secondary revenues, reached 86.14m euros in January 2025, a value roughly the same as the period in 2024.

According to preliminary estimates, remittances for February 2025 reached 88.12m euros, bringing a total of 174.26m euros (primary) for the first two months of 2025.

The biggest projects, even during February 2025, have been through the IFJBs with 62.65%, commercial banks with 16.45% and other canals with 20.90%”, says the report on Foreign Sector Statistics for the quarter of four 2024 and the Finance Bilan for January 2025.

According to the CEC, the balance of payments ė at the end of January 2025 was marked by current account deficits worth 21.36m euros, which shows deepening deficit compared to the same period last year when the current account stood at 6.78m euros.

The main cause of this deficit is increasing the deficit in the trade balance.

According to the CEC, direct investments in Kosovo for January 2025 reached 90.96m euros, marking an increase of 12.19% compared to the same period last year, while direct investments outside Kosovo reached 16.19m euros, with an increase of 19.12% compared to January 2024.
